Company founded by Arthur Hungerford Pollen on 31 December, 1907,(Brooks. 111.) for the development and manufacture of fire-control equipment. Its formation was announced on 5 January, 1909 to the Board of Admiralty.

Officed at Bishophill House, York, England.
