Ronald Philip Stanley de Sausmarez
Commander (retired) Ronald Philip Stanley de Sausmarez, (21 June, 1882 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Birkenhead.
In May 1902, he exhibited unofficer-like conduct during Divine Service, and was to be appointed to a seagoing ship upon termination of his course.
De Sausmarez was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 September, 1903.
Placed on the Retired List as unfit on 1 June, 1908. In August 1908 he was refused compensation for his injury, as all his injuries were due to a dislocation of his shoulder, which was not attributable to his service.
De Sausmarez was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 September, 1911.
He performed "extremely good work" in repairing and restoring destroyer flotillas in the wake of the Battle of Jutland.
De Sausmarez was promoted to the rank of Commander in recognition of his wartime service, dated 11 November, 1918.
