Commander (retired) Arthur George Holmes, R.N. (24 February, 1887 – 8 May, 1922) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of J. Holmes, Esq., J.P. was born in Brooke, Norfolk.[1]

Holmes was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 September, 1907. He would start a series of hospitalisations seemingly regarding heart disease.[2]

Following a series of stints in convalescent homes, he was retired as unfit on 19 April, 1912. He promptly asked to serve with Volunteer Forces in India.[3]

Holmes was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander 15 September, 1915.[4]
