Lieutenant-Commander Cyril Munro Faure, (10 January, 1897 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Faure listed his aunt as his guardian upon joining the Training Establishment in September, 1914. He passed out of the establishment on New Year's Day, 1915 and was appointed to the dreadnought Marlborough, in which he served to March 1917, seeing action at the Battle of Jutland.[1]

After a brief course in Torpedo Control at H.M.S. Vernon in March, 1917, Faure was appointed to the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 25. He remained in her through September when he was sent to the "R" Class destroyer Ursa.[2]

Faure was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant with seniority of 15 June, 1918, adjusted from 15 September. He was sent to Dolphin for a submarine course and then served in boats under Platypus and in G 12.[3]

Faure was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant with seniority of 15 June, 1926. He was placed on the Retired List at his own request with gratuity of £1200 on 27 August, 1928.[4]
