Lieutenant-Commander Robert Elmhirst Thoyts, (27 December, 1880 – 7 March, 1915) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Thoyts was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 January, 1902.

Thoyts was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 January, 1910.

His service record has several medical notes within, and in 1914 it was noted that he drank too much.

Thoyts was appointed to the armed merchant cruiser H.M.S. Empress of Britain on 4 August, 1914. He was invalided from her on 1 September and died on 7 March, 1915.
