Commander (retired) Stanley Floyd Wood Laidlaw (16 April, 1883 – 5 [illeg], 1954) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Laidlaw was promoted to the rank of Supplementary Lieutenant on 1 June, 1914. He was appointed to Diana for the Test Mobilisation, but then to the scout cruiser Amphion on 1 August. He was severely injured in her loss on 6 August and was sent to Shotley Sick Quarters to recuperate, being declared fit on 15 September.[1]
Laidlaw was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 June, 1922.[2]
He was placed on the Retired List on account of age on 16 April, 1928.[3]
Laidlaw was promoted to the rank of Commander on 3 January, 1941.[4]
Laidlaw was appointed in command of the patrol boat P38 on 3 January, 1921.[5][6]
