Lieutenant John Giles, (10 March, 1848 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Giles was severely reprimanded on 12 August, 1868 for carelessness.
Giles was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 6 February, 1872.
He was removed from command of the training brig H.M.S. Pilot and placed on the Retired List when he was judged insane, suffering from acute mania.
