Commander (retired) William Archibald Rosebery Cartwright, (11 March, 1900 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Cartwright listed a "Captain Elwes" as his guardian when he joined the Royal Navy in September 1915. He served in Indomitable from 3 June 1918 to 4 March, 1919 at which time he was moved to the convoy sloop Bryony.

Cartwright was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 October, 1920.

In early 1924, he served as second gunnery officer in Ramillies.

Cartwright was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 October, 1928.

Cartwright was placed on the Retired List at the rank of Commander on 11 March, 1945.
