U.S.S. Marblehead was one of three Montgomery Class unprotected cruisers completed for the U.S. Navy.

Service
She was commissioned on 2 April, 1894 with Commander Charles O'Neil in command.
In 1900, she was serving on the Pacific Station.[8]
