Service

On 11 April, 1907, she collided with H.M.S. Falcon in the English Channel. The two damaged vessels returned to Dover Pier.[8]

In 1909, Colne became one of forty-three destroyers so far fitted with Destroyer Sets.[9]

On 1 July 1913, she left Malta for Corfu with eight other destroyers under the lead of the torpedo gunboat Hussar.[10] On 4 July, the destroyers left Corfu for Platea, sans Hussar.[11]

In mid-1913, she was serving in the Mediterranean.[12]

Under the command of Claude Seymour, on 8 March, 1915, Colne was among several destroyers that went to the aid of the mined battleship Ocean, seeing Chelmer rescue 500 men.[13]
