Francis Herbert Mitchell

Admiral Francis Herbert Mitchell, C.B., D.S.O, Royal Navy, Retired (10 January, 1876 – 7 March, 1946) was an officer of the Royal Navy during the First World War.

Early Life & Career

"Commander Francis H. Mitchell (Commander for Gunnery Duties) failed to exercise proper supervision by allowing a drill order to be used for other than drill purposes, and he will be relieved in his appointment."[1]

Mitchell was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 21 January, 1933, vice Field.[2]
