Vice-Admiral SIR William Clarkson, K.B.E., C.M.G. (11 December, 1894 – 21 January, 1934) served in the Royal Navy. He played an important role in the creation of the Royal Australian Navy.

Life & Career

Clarkson was born in Whitby.

In 1911, he was appointed to Third naval Member of the Naval Board, being responsible for the construction and engineering of ships, repairs and control of Naval dockyards and bases.
