H.M.S. L 22 was one of thirty-five "L" class submarines completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

L 22 completed to full complement on 3 April, 1925.[6]

From at least mid-1927 through at least mid-1931 she was with the Fifth Submarine Flotilla.[7][8]

By early 1933, she was one of three "L" class boats comprising Group "Y" Submarines in Reserve at Portsmouth under the collective command of Lieutenant-Commander John Pollington Apps.[9]

There is an apparent conflict between Tweedy and Busbridge.
