Schichau-Werke was a German shipbuilder in Elbing, Prussia.
History
The company was founded by Ferdinand Schichau in 1837, and initially worked in general heavy engineering. Its shipyard was not built until 1854. By the Dreadnought Era, it had come to specialise in making torpedo boats and destroyers for Germany and for export. Despite a focus on smaller construction, the firm did build some of Germany's capital ships for the Great War.
