Richard Edward Tracey

Admiral SIR Richard Edward Tracey, K.C.B., Royal Navy (24 January, 1837 – 7 March, 1907) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 5 February, 1872, on 8 February of that year Tracey was promoted to the rank of Captain with seniority of 29 December, 1871.[1]

Tracey was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 1 January, 1888.[2]

Tracey was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 23 June, 1893,[3] after the death of Sir George Tryon.

In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 22 February, 1870, he was placed on the Retired List on 24 January, 1902.[4]
