Wyndham Douglas Hart-Dyke
Commander (retired) Wyndham Douglas Hart-Dyke, R.N. (13 August, 1892 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of solicitor R. C. Hart-Dyke, Esq..
Hart-Dyke was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 December, 1914.
Hart-Dyke was appointed in command of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 5 on 10 September, 1917.[1]
Post-War
Hart-Dyke was placed on the Retired List at his own request with a gratuity on 5 August, 1920.
Hart-Dyke was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander (retired) on 15 December, 1922.
Hart-Dyke was promoted to the rank of Commander (retired) on 13 August, 1932.
World War II
On 6 November 1939, Hart-Dyke was appointed to go to Devonport for a gunnery course for service in armed merchant cruisers. On the 27th of the month he was appointed to the armed merchant cruiser H.M.S. Wolfe for gunnery duties.
Appointed in command of the armed yacht Coila, vice Max Owens Waldemar Miller from 1 January, 1942 to 7 March, 1945.
