Richard Morden Harbord-Hamond, Tenth Baron Suffield

Admiral Richard Morden Harbord-Hamond, Tenth Baron Suffield, Royal Navy, Retired (24 August, 1865 – 2 February, 1951) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Harbord was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1901.[1]

Harbord was appointed in command of the Magnificent on 27 November, 1908.[2]

Harbord was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 19 September, 1917, vice Evan-Thomas, and placed on the Retired List on 20 September.[3] He assumed the additional name of Hamond by Royal Licence and Authority on 6 November, 1917.[4]

Harbord-Hamond was advanced to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 15 November, 1922,[5] and was advanced to Admiral on the Retired List on 1 August, 1927.[6]

Upon the death of his first cousin in 1946, Harbord became the Tenth Baron Suffield in the Peerage of Great Britain and Eleventh Baronet in the Baronetage of Great Britain.
