Captain Andrew Francis Balfour, Royal Navy, Retired (29 May, 1851 – 31 March, 1906) served in the Royal Navy. He was a surveyor, and spoke a little French.
Life & Career
Born in Gibraltar, Balfour entered the Navy on 24 March, 1865.[1]
Balfour was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 2 July, 1875.[2]
Balfour married M. A. Truman on 3 April, 1889 and was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1890.[3]
Balfour was promoted to the rank of Captain and placed on the Retired List at his own request on on 1 October, 1898.[4]
