Admiral Stuart Nicholson, C.B., M.V.O., D.L., Royal Navy, Retired (11 October, 1865 – 10 September, 1936) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Educated at the Royal Naval School.

Took part in expedition to Benin in 1897. As of June, 1906 commanded cruiser HMS Dido. Promoted to Rear-Admiral on 30 July, 1912.

Nicholson succeeded Rear-Admiral Charles H. Dundas of Dundas as Rear-Admiral in the Home Fleets at the Nore on 5 December, 1913. His flag was hoisted in the Russell, of the Sixth Battle Squadron.[1]

Commanded Sixth Battle Squadron from outbreak of First World War until April, 1916. Then became Flag Officer East Coast of England until July, 1918, being promoted to Vice-Admiral in September, 1917.
