Jump to navigationJump to searchBurney's Royal Naval Academy was a private preparatory school in Gosport for boys wishing to apply for entrance to the Royal Navy through competitive examinations for the training ship H.M.S. Britannia.
History
Dr. William Burney established the school as Dr. Burney's Academy in 1791. His sons, a grandson, and a Reverend F. G. Johnson served as headmaster of the school in succession until it closed in 1904.
