im Thurn Torpedo Tactical Instrument[1]

The im Thurn Torpedo Tactical Instrument was a Torpedo Control instrument designed by Cdr. J. K. im Thurn and described in the Annual Report of the Torpedo School, 1917, amongst surely others.[2]

In 1917, four examples had been made and trialled in Revenge, Vernon, Queen Elizabeth and [[King George V (1912)|King George V.

Design

Function

The device was primarily useful for graphically representing torpedo defence by calculating enemy torpedo threats. An example problem that it could be applied to is provided.[TO BE CONTINUED - TONE]ARTS1917 p. 201
