H.M.S. Titania was building as a civil vessel, but was purchased in 1915 and converted to a submarine depot ship.
Service
Titania completed conversion to a depot ship in November, 1915. She served submarines at Blyth 1915-1918.[5]
At the end of 1920, she was serving as flagship of the China Submarine Flotilla.[6]

- Captain Charles S. Benning, D.S.O., December, 1920, and as Captain (S) in command of the China Submarine Flotilla.[7]
