Admiral the Honourable SIR Matthew Robert Best, K.C.B., D.S.O., C.V.O. (18 June, 1878 – 13 October, 1940) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

In Best's diary entry for Monday 1st September: "C in C saw all Dread: Captains onboard Iron Duke on subject of Action Tactics.(p. 79)
