John Satterfield Sandars

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE John Satterfield Sandars, C.V.O., D.C.L., P.C. (15 January, 1853 – 29 March, 1934) was a lawyer and scholar who became a political secretary, most notably to Arthur J. Balfour from 1895 to 1905. I have been unable to find a Service Record for him at The National Archives.

Early Life & Career

John Satterfield Sandars was born on 15 January, 1853, the son of Charles Sandars, estate and colliery agent.

Mrs. Sandars died at Thorpe on 4 June, 1947, aged eighty-nine.[1]
