Rear-Admiral James Uchtred Farie, C.M.G., Royal Navy, Retired (25 November, 1873 – 17 September, 1957) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Farie was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1895.[1]
Farie was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1905.[2]
Farie was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1913.[3]
Farie succeeded Captain Reginald Y. Tyrwhitt in command of Adventure and as Captain (D) in the Second Destroyer Flotilla on 1 December, 1913.[4]
Farie was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 19 May, 1922.[5] He was advanced to the rank of Rear-Admiral on the Retired List on 8 October, 1923.[6]
Farie died at his Lymington home on 17 September, 1957, aged eighty-three.[7]
