im Thurn Torpedo Tactical Instrument[1]

The im Thurn Torpedo Tactical Instrument was a Torpedo Control instrument designed by Cdr. J. K. im Thurn and described in the Annual Report of the Torpedo School, 1917, amongst surely others.[2]

In 1917, four examples had been made and fitted in Revenge, Vernon, Queen Elizabeth and King George V for trial.

Design

Function

The device was primarily useful for graphically representing torpedo defence by calculating enemy torpedo threats. An example problem that it could be applied to is provided.[TO BE CONTINUED - TONE]ARTS1917 p. 201
