Lieutenant-Commander (retired) Henry John Clarke (11 October, 1887 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Clarke was confirmed in the rank of Mate on 16 October, 1914.[1]

He served in Antrim from November 1914 to June 1916.

Clarke was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 June, 1917.[2]

Clarke was appointed in command of the destroyer Ribble from 11 September, 1918 through February, 1919.[3][4]

Retired at his own request on 20 February, 1923, Clarke would be promoted to Lieutenant-Commander on 15 February, 1925.[5]

In August/September 1936, he spent nineteen days in Tangiers.[6]
