Lieutenant Arthur Edgar Hodgson (25 June, 1886 – 18 July, 1928) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Hodgson was promoted to the rank of Mate on 15 February, 1915. He was sent for special service at Dunkirk. In April 1915, Commander Halahan commended Hodgson for his work with Horse Boats off Flanders, where he displayed coolness under fire.[1]

On 1 August, 1915 he was sent to Dolphin for instruction in submarines. Much of his service from here was in the type, but the only boats directly named in his Service Record are K 3 from 19 April 1917 to 23 March, 1918 and then K 7 where he served until 9 September, 1918.[2]

Hodgson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 February, 1918.[3]

Hodgson was appointed in command of the submarine H 33 on 6 December, 1920.[4]

He was placed on the Retired List as medically unfit on 17 August, 1921.
