H.M.S. Condor (1898)
Builder: Sheerness DYd[1]
Laid down: 1 Jan, 1898[2]
Launched: 17 Dec, 1898[3]
Commissioned: 1 Nov, 1900[4]
Foundered: 3 Dec, 1901[5]
Fate: off Cape Flattery

H.M.S. Condor was one of six Condor Class sloops completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

Condor sailed from Esquimalt, Canada on 2 December, 1901 to sail to Honolulu. She was last seen parting company with Warspite, and her loss was presumed to be related to a severe storm the following day. One of her boats and related wreckage washed ashore on Vancouver Island and along Queen Charlotte Sound as a search by H.M.S. Phaeton and American Revenue Cutters proved fruitless.[6]
