Commander Russell Hamilton McBean, D.S.O., D.S.C., R.N. (3 March, 1894 – 30 September, 1963) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of iron and steel merchant Thomas McBean, Esq..
Promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 May, 1916.
He commanded Template:UK-CMB31 in the attack on Kronstadt Harbour 18 August, 1919. He torpedoed the Russian Template:RU-AndreiPervozvanny.
On 26 November, 1923, McBean was appointed to the C.M.B. base H.M.S. Hornet (the former Template:UK-CMB102) for command of C.M.Bs..[1]
Promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 May, 1924.
Promoted to the rank of Commander on 12 August, 1937.
