Captain John Campbell Annesley, D.S.O., R. N. (2 August, 1895 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

His father died before he joined the navy.

Annesley was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 March, 1917. He was slightly wounded in the naval raid on Zeebrugge and Ostend.

Annesley was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 March, 1925.

Annesley was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1930.

Annesley was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1938.

Annesley commanded Victorious from 15 August, 1945 to 12 July, 1947, vice Rear-Admiral Denny.

He was placed on the Retired List on 8 January, 1948.
