Captain (retired) William Scott Bardwell, M.V.O., D.S.O.*, R.N. (21 April, 1892 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of barrister J. N. Bardwell, Esq..
In October 1910 Bardwell was found negligent in losing 200 pounds of beef overboard from Blenheim. He was made to refund the cost.[1]
Bardwell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 November, 1914. Bardwell would command minesweepers from August 1917 through the end of the war.[2]
Bardwell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 November, 1922.[3]
Bardwell was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1928.[4]
World War II
Bardwell was granted the acting rank of Captain on 22 September, 1939.[5]
Bardwell was placed on the Retired List on account of age with the rank of Captain on 21 April, 1942.[6]
Reverted to the Retired List on 31 May 1946.[7]
