Captain John Peter Ralph Marriott, R.N. (28 November, 1879 – 21 December, 1938) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Marriott was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April, 1902.

Marriott was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 April, 1910.

Marriott was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1914. At the outbreak of War, Marriott was appointed to the second class protected cruiser Charybdis for two months, before moving to the armoured cruiser Euryalus, where he would become Flag Commander to Rear-Admiral [[Sir Rosslyn Wemyss. His professional relationship to Wemyss would prove lasting.
