Seconds-in-Command

Rear-Admiral Alfred T. Dale succeeded Rear-Admiral Seymour in command of the Western Division on 24 April, 1894. Rear-Admiral John Fellowes commanded the Western Division from 19 May, 1897.[1] He was succeeded by Rear-Admiral John W. Brackenbury on 1 June, 1898.[2] Rear-Admiral Arthur D. Fanshawe succeeded Brackenbury on 1 June, 1899.[3] Fanshawe was succeeded by Rear-Admiral Jenkings at Devonport on 1 June, 1900.[4] Jenkings was superseded by Rear-Admiral Sir William A. D. Acland on 5 June, 1901.[5] Rear-Admiral Assheton G. Curzon-Howe succeeded Rear-Admiral Acland on 5 June, 1902.[6] He was superseded on 5 June, 1903,[7] by Rear-Admiral the Honourable Hedworth Lambton.[8] Lambton was succeeded by Rear-Admiral Francis C. B. Bridgeman on 25 June, 1904.[9]
