Captain Lancelot Gordon Ingham, C.B.E., D.S.O. (7 May, 1889 – 5 June, 1937) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Made a Lieutenant on 15 July, 1909.[1]

He was appointed to Hogue as gunnery officer for the test Mobilisation in 1914, and was reappointed in her on 1 August and survived her sinking on 22 September.[2]

He was appointed to Broke to assist the Fourth Destroyer Flotilla in gunnery. He stayed at this until November.[3]

Made a Lieutenant-Commander on 15 July, 1917.[4]

On 12 September, 1918, he was appointed to Thunderer as gunnery officer.[5]

On 26 November, 1919, he was appointed to Queen Elizabeth as gunnery officer.[6]

Made a Commander on 31 December, 1921.[7]

Superseded in Queen Elizabeth on 12 April, 1922.

On 14 October, 1927, he was appointed in command of a ship whose name begins with a "V" ("Verbena?"). He was superseded in her on 19 November, 1929.[8]

On 8 August, 1932, he was appointed to Hawkins to work on the staff of the Commander in Chief, China as Fleet (G). On 20 July, 1932, he was appointed to Comus for command of Castor when she commissioned.[9]

Advanced to Captain on the Retired List on 7 May, 1934.[10]
