Admiral SIR George Willes Watson, K.C.B., Royal Navy (5 April, 1827 – 26 April, 1897) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Watson was appointed Admiral Superintendent of Chatham Royal Dockyard on 1 December, 1881.[1]

On the occasion of Queen Victoria's birthday, Watson was appointed an Ordinary Member of the Second Class, or Knight Commander, in the Military Division of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) on 30 May, 1891.[2]

Watson was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 25 February, 1892.[3] In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 22 February, 1870, he was placed on the Retired List from 5 April.[4]
