Noel and his wife had three children.  Mary Penelope (born [[10 August]], [[1887]]), Francis Methuen (born [[28 December]], [[1888]]) and [[Montague Wriothesley Noel|Montague Wriothesley]] (born [[12 November]], [[1892]]).  Mary passed away on [[22 March]], [[1969]].  Francis, educated at Cheltenham College and employed by the Bank of England, joined the Inns of Court O.T.C. on the outbreak of the First World War and was commissioned into the Devon Regiment.  As a Second Lieutenant he was killed leading his men into action on [[26 October]], [[1917]].  Montague joined the Royal Navy and by the Second World War was a Commander.  He died on active service at the age of 48 while in command of H.M.S. ''Torrent'', leaving a wife and four children.
