Lieutenant-Commander Reginald Dudley Rowe, D.S.C. (21 May, 1893 – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve and the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Rowe entered the R.N. from the R.N.R. in 1915. He was fluent in French and German and had some facility in Russian and Italian.[1]

Rowe was appointed to the destroyer Ure on 16 December 1915 and then to the destroyer Nestor on 19 April, 1916. He was thought killed in her sinking at the Battle of Jutland, but on 10 June was reported to be in German detention at Mainz.[2]

Rowe was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 8 September, 1916. On 30 April 1918 he was transferred to Holland. In October 1918 he arrived in London.[3]

Rowe was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 8 September, 1924.[4]
