Commander (retired) Francis Perceval Saunders, R.N. (18 September, 1881 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Saunders was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 September, 1903.[1]
Saunders was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on, it appears, 21 July, 1915 when he was appointed in temporary command of a ship with a name similar to "Curnan" which was attached to Attentive. This appointment ended on 11 October, 1915.[2]
In March-May 1919, Saunders commanded the Slava, which was a part of the Caspian Sea force. Her ill state of repair rendered her unable to take part in the 22 May Battle of Alexander Fort.
Saunders was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Commander on 22 July, 1925.[3]
