Lieutenant Edward Selby Wise, R.N. (6 October, 1887 – 20 October, 1914) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Bedford Park, Acton.
Wise was promoted to the rank of Sub-Lieutenant on 15 September, 1907.
Wise was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 September, 1909.
Wise was appointed to the submarine Severn navigating on 7 August, 1914. He would die when ashore with a landing party aiming to assist the Belgian army at Nieupoort on 20 October, 1914. Rear-Admiral Hood reported that Wise had gallantly led "his men into action" before being struck down.
