H.M.S. Shoreham was one of eight Shoreham Class sloops completed for the Royal Navy.
Service
Lieutenant-Commander Rodolph C. D. Haig was appointed to Shoreham on 23 June, 1931, to assume command upon her commissioning. Commander John Harding assumed command in 1932, but on 21 April, 1933, James Vandeleur Creagh was appointed in command, and would use Shoreham was the Royal Navy's new headquarters ship in the Persian Gulf.
She re-commissioned on 19 March, 1936.[4]
