Captain Guy Hamilton, R.N. (19 August, 1882 – 11 September, 1950) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of James Hamilton, shipbuilder was born in Ardedynn, Kelvinside Partick.
Hamilton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 November, 1903.
In June 1912, he was awarded the Royal Humane Society Silver Medal and Certificate for lifesaving.
Hamilton was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1913.
Mentioned in despatches for service in Gallipoli, gazetted 4 March 1916. Hamilton left Havelock when he was ordered to report to the Admiralty on 16 June, 1917, where he received an appointment to join Ajax as executive officer.
Post-War
Hamilton was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1918 and was superseded in Ajax on 10 January, 1919.
