Rangetaker, Second Class was a non-substantive rating in the Royal Navy. The introduction of the rating was approved by the Board of Admiralty on 19 July, 1914,[1] and confirmed by Order-in-Council on 5 November. Pay was originally 2d. a day, and was increased to 6d. a day from 22 January, 1918. At the same time a non-substantive rating of Rangetaker, Third Class was also introduced.[2]
