S 74 was a torpedo boat completed for the Imperial German Navy in 1895
Construction
Galvanized steel construction with two Thornycroft boilers instead of the typical locomotive boilers.[1] Launched on 7 November, 1894.[2]
Service
Commissioned on 25 October, 1895 and reboilered in 1905.[3] Renamed T 74 on 4 September, 1914 and served throughout the war as a minesweeper and tender. Retained by the Reichsmarine until stricken on 26 January, 1921 and sold on 23 April for 110,000M. Broken up at Wilhelmshaven.[4]
