Admiral SIR Charles Lionel Vaughan-Lee, K.B.E., C.B., Royal Navy, Retired (27 February, 1867 – 16 March, 1928) was an officer of the Royal Navy during the First World War.
Early Life & Career
Vaughan-Lee was promoted to the rank of Commander on 1 January, 1899.[1]
On 1 September, 1913, he was appointed Commodore, Second Class Commanding the Royal Naval Barracks, Portsmouth.[2]
Great War
Vaughan-Lee was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 12 August, 1915, vice Erskine.[3] He was appointed Director of Air Services at the Admiralty on 8 September, 1918.[4] On 19 January, 1917, Vaughan-Lee was appointed Admiral Superintendent of Portsmouth Royal Dockyard.[5]
He was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 26 January, 1920, vice Ricardo, and placed on the Retired List the following day.[6] He was advanced to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List on 10 March, 1925.
