H.M.S. Cumberland was one of ten armoured cruisers of the Monmouth Class completed between 1903 and 1904.

There was also a heavy cruiser Cumberland launched in the 1920s.

Service

Upon her completion in December, 1904, Cumberland commenced her service career as part of the Channel Fleet's Second Cruiser Squadron. She underwent a refit in 1907–08 to become a training ship for the Part II education of naval cadets.

She was recommissioned at Devonport on 7 September 1909.[9]

She recommissioned at Devonport on 5 September 1911.[10]

The ship paid off on 18 May, 1914.[11]

She again paid off on 25 October, 1916.[12]

Cumberland paid off at Queenstown on 15 April, 1920.[13]
