Captain Charles Peter Frend, (18 January, 1899 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Reverend J. P. Frend. He served in Cæsar from August, 1914 to 24 July 1915. He served in the battlecruiser Princess Royal from 1 September 1915 to 10 December 1917, fighting in her at the Battle of Jutland.[1]

Frend was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 January, 1920.[2]

Frend was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 January, 1928.[3]

Frend was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1933.[4]

Captain of Enchantress from 24 May, 1937 to 10 January, 1939.[5]

Captain of the light cruiser Phoebe, vice Ballance from 11 March, 1942 to 29 August, 1944.[6]

World War II

Frend was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1940, vice "Ikly", "Tally", or a similarly short name.[7]
