Commander (retired) John O'Brien Milner-Barry, (4 December, 1898 – 28 February, 1954) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of Professor E. L. Milner-Barry, Esq..[1]
Passed out of the Training Establishment on the outbreak of war, Miler-Barry sewrved in the second class protected cruiser Charybdis until mid-Movember 1914. He served in the sloop Hindustan from late November 1914 until being appointed to Dominion on 3 April, 1917.[2]
Milner-Barry spent the last year of the war in the destroyer Matchless.[3]
Milner-Barry was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 February, 1920.[4]
Milner-Barry was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 February, 1928.[5]
World War II
Milner-Barry was placed on the Retired List on account of age at the rank of Commander on 4 December, 1943.[6]
