Captain (retired) Edward Masterman Loly (9 March, 1896 – 18 February, 1942) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of schoolmaster Gustave Loly, Esq..
Loly was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 April, 1917.
Loly was appointed in command of the submarine H 22 on 8 July, 1920.[1]
Loly was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 April, 1925.
Loly was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1930.
World War II
Suffering from tuberculosis at Durban, Loly was placed on the Retired List as medically unfit at the rank of Captain on 22 November, 1941. He would die in February of 1942.
