Rear-Admiral (retired) Anson Schomberg, R.N. (19 November, 1846 – 12 June, 1925) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Anson was the son of Rear-Admiral Herbert Schomberg, R.N..[1]
Schomberg saved a life from drowning in June 1868 for which he was awarded the Royal Humane Society Bronze Medal on 9 September.
Schomberg was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 4 April, 1870.
Schomberg was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1882.
Schomberg was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1889.
Schomberg was appointed in command of the battleship Victorious in September, 1897.
Schomberg was placed on the Retired List on account of age on 20 November, 1901 and promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral (retired) on 30 May, 1903.
